The participants can join a guided walking tour to "Vegueta", Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Old Town. Vegueta is a charming quartier that has witnessed the history of the city in the last 600 years. Vegueta is full of quiet squares, churches, palaces... Some of the most remarkable buildings you will find during the visit are: Santa Ana's Cathedral and Square, Christopher Columbus Museum, Calle de Los Balcones, Plaza del Pilar Nuevo, Plaza del Espíritu Santo......

The ECOS 2023 Gala Dinner will take place at the Pueblo Canario, a historical complex built in 1937 by the architect Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre. This complex is part of the called "Zona Nestor", which includes a charming museum, gardens, and also the historical Hotel Santa Catalina.
TOURS to discover gran canaria
These tours are taking place on monday 26th and wednesday 28th. They will depart from the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus after the scientific sessions have finished. They are offered to give ECOS participants the chance to discover some places of great natural beauty in Gran Canaria. Following you will find full information about the tours and also a link to book them.
We start the tour visiting the Botanical Garden of Gran Canaria, the largest one in Spain. Close to the Botanical Gardens is located Bandama, an impressive crater, 200 meters deep and 500 in diameters. This area saw one of the last volcanic eruptions on the Island and is rich in endemic vegetation. The volcanic ash has created the perfect land to grow grapes, which is why this area has become the wine-growing area of Gran Canaria. We will finish the tour visiting a small traditional winery of the area, where we will enjoy of a wine tasting.

SURF SESSIONS AT LAS CANTERAS BEACH
The best surfer is the one having most fun. From Sunday 25th until Friday 30th, for all participants of this conference, it will be organized a daily beginners group lesson at 17:00h
The session includes: surf lesson (theoric and practic) and full equipment
Note: This activity is not included in the inscription fee. It requires a specific registration through this webiste: California Surf Center (at least one day in advance)
